Happy Eid ul-Fitr 2018: Wishes Quotes, Whatsapp and Facebook Status, Images, Messages: Eid ul-Fitr is a religious holiday celebrated by Muslims all over the world. The day marks the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the month-long fasting that people observe from dawn to dusk. The festivities begin after the sighting of the crescent moon.

The fast observed by people during the holy month is known as roza and on the last day, people exchange greetings and pleasantries. They enjoy several delicacies and celebrate the festival for almost three days. This year, Eid ul-Fitr in India is expected to begin on the evening of June 14, Thursday and end on the evening of June 15, Friday. Meaning of Eid Mubarak

In the Islamic religion, Eid is a very important festival, and stands for love, celebration of life, and utmost and sincere to their God Allah. The two main Eid festivals celebrated during the year by the Muslims are Eid ul Fitr and Eid Ul Adha (also known as Bakri Eid).

On the day of Eid people greet each other with the words Eid Mubarak. While Eid is the name of the festival, Mubarak literally means congratulations. When paraphrased, Eid Mubarak means blessings on the occasion of Eid.

This traditional Muslim greeting is reserved for the festivals of Eid ul-Adha and Eid ul-Fitr. In Arabic the words "Taqabbalallâhu minnâ wa minkum" meaning "may ALLAH accept from us and you [our fasts and deeds]", are also used.
